What is a transistor in a chip?
From the English explanation, the transistor (transistor) can be seen as a transfer (transfer)-resistor (resistor) combination, it is a kind of conditioning current or voltage installation, can switch or amplify the signal, as the basic element in the integrated circuit, the integrated circuit is composed of a large number of transistors interconnected with the circuit. The transistors in the latest Intel CPUs look like this:

Perhaps everyone is still looking at a face of bewilderment. For example, current is like the flow rate of water, and voltage is the pressure of water. Under the same pipe diameter, the greater the water pressure, the greater the flow rate of water. Under the same water pressure, the smaller the pipe diameter, the smaller the flow rate of water (pay attention to the flow rate, not the flow rate, think about the time required to turn the faucet on and on a bucket of water, obviously it takes more time to open the hour). A transistor is like a water valve in a water pipe, a mechanism that can be used to control flow. This water valve usually has three states:
① Fully open-the water does not have any restricted activity, ② fully closed-completely prevents the water from moving, ③ flow control-control the water valve switch level to allow the water to move at a certain flow rate, the transistor can do the same thing, At some point between the complete close (open circuit) and the complete open circuit (short circuit) linearly control the current in the circuit. The size of the water pipe diameter is similar to the resistance in the circuit. If a valve can accurately adjust the size of the pipe, then the transistor can accurately adjust the resistance between the two poles. So, in a sense, the transistor is like a variable resistor.
